Glen Lyle Gibson, a life long resident of of the Frankfort community, passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital, Marysville, Kansas on March 13, 1979,

Glen was born March 1, 1901 to John and Lulu Gibson on a farm near Frankfort, Kansas. He attended the Frankfort schools, graduating from high school with the class of 1920.

Glen worked at public road maintenance for several years before moving to the present family home nearly fifty years ago. In 1930 he started a dairy business which supplied the town for many years.

As a prominent farmer in the community, he enjoyed his work of raising crops and livestock. One of his special interests was the Frankfort Cemetery which is on part of
the quarter section where he lived. He helped in many ways when there was not a full-time caretaker. Glen was a wise counselor and since he was a descendant of one of Frankfort’s pioneer families, the young and old would come to visit and consult with him. He was a home loving Christian man and will be sadly missed by the family, neighbors and many friends.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Grant, and Giles; a sister Mrs. John E. (Geneva) Farrell, and two infant sisters, Gail and Garnet.

Survivors include three brothers, and three sisters; Miss Gretchen and Giblert Gibson of the home; Mrs. R.O. (Grace) Jones, Norwalk, Connecticut, Mrs. Geraldine
Meeks, Marysville, Kansas, Grover Gibson, Kansas City, Missouri and George Gibson, Topeka, Kansas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted from the Frankfort United Methodist Church, March 15, 1979 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dale Emery officiating.

Mrs. LaVonne Farrell organist and Mrs. Tim Robertson soloist provided the music.

Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery Frankfort, Kansas.

Casket bearers were Tracy Stewart, Dale Dunlap, George Fischer, Marvin Jone, Loren Johnson and Lenos Lundberg.
