Ruby Ernestine Roberts was the daughter of Charlie Bethel Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Burkhalter Roberts.

Ruby's first marriage was to Christopher "Christo" Ivey.
Her second marriage was to Claiborne "Slim" Jarrell.

Ruby resided in Clarke and Jasper counties during the 1930's and early 1940's, with her spouse Christo and their two sons.

In 1948 she relocated to Jackson County, Ms. with her two sons, where she met and married Claiborne Jarrell aka Slim, who also had several children.

Ruby and Slim purchased a home near Ingalls Avenue in Pascagoula, Jackson County Ms. Ruby started cooking hot lunches for some of the Ingalls Shipbuilding employees, this turned into a Lucrative business for her, which she continued to do for many years until they purchased another home on Chico Road in Pascagoula and relocated to that residence.

Ruby lived at the Chico Road residence until hurricane Katrina destroyed her home in 2005, after that she resided with her son James and his wife, Sue, in Hurley, Jackson County, Ms.

Ruby passed away on August 24, 2010 at the Plaza Nursing center in Pascagoula, Jackson Co., Ms. at age 94. She was interred at the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Carriere, Pearl River County, Ms.
