Luna May Roberts was born in Mississippi and lived in Mississippi during her childhood years. She was the daughter of Charlie Bethel and Mary Elizabeth (Burkhalter) Roberts.

Luna May Roberts and Leland Clair "Lee" Black were united in marriage on the 16 Nov. 1926 in Lumberton, Lamar Co., Ms. They were the parents of seven children.

Leland Clair "Lee" Black was the son of Frank M. Black and Lydia (Bell) Black of Warren County, Pa. May and Lee left Ms. and was living in Oil City, Venango County, Pa. when their oldest daughter was born June 11, 1928 at 10:10 P.M.

On April 25, 1930 census, May & Lee were living in Cranberry Township Venango County Pa., enumerated as Leland C. Black age 30 employed as a pumper in the oil fields; Luna, wife, age 27; and Dolores, daughter age 1 year & 4 months; Leland, son, born since 1 April/with a line drawn through the entry. Lee and May did have a son who was born on the 9 April 1930 at 5 P.M., he was named Leland Clair Black Jr.

Lee and May lived and raised their seven children in Pa. They also adopted one of their grandson's and raised him. After Lee's death in 1962 May and her youngest son moved to Florida where they lived for several years, May eventually went back to Pa. where she lived the rest of her life.

May died September 21, 1984 in Oil City, Venango County, Pa. at the age of 81. She was interred at Calvary Cemetery in Oil City, Pa.
