Richard Marvin Roberts was the son of Charlie Bethel Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Burkhalter.

Richard Marvin Roberts and Frances Elizabeth Menasco were married the 21 June 1941 in Laurel, Ms. They were the parents of 8 children, the twins died the day they were born, 6 children lived to be adults.

He enlisted in the U. S. Army , lst Sergant, fought on Iwo Jima Island, said to be one of the worst battles during WW ll.

Retired Civil Service, Brookley Air Force Base, Mobile, Alabama.

He served as Chairman of the deacons at Franklin Creek Baptist Church in Jackson Co., Ms.

His favorite hobby was fresh water fishing. Marvin died July 24, 2002 at the age of 88.
