In the June 1860 Census, Miss Amy Hutson 28 (often enumerated as Emma), her sister Martha Jane 21, and brother George 25 were enumerated living with their father just days after their mother's death.

Their father remarried quickly, but these 3 adult siblings never married and continued to live together for the rest of their lives.

As the first of the 3 to pass, Amy rests near her mother in the family graveyard. Her siblings, George (1832–1911) and Martha Jane (1835–1909), rest side-by-side with matching headstones in the Old Salem Cemetery not far away.
