Mrs. Josephine Voelker
Funeral services for Mrs Josephine Voelker, 86, who died at 6:30a.m. Saturday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs Joseph Abler, near St Cloud, after an illness of six months, were conducted at 9:30a.m. today at the Lisowe Funeral Home, St Cloud, and at 10a.m. at St Claudius church, the Rev Bernard Stoffel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Born Feb 2, 1868 on the farm where she died, she was the daughter of Adrian and Christianna Herrlich Dreifuerst. After her marriage to Lawrence Voelker, Sept 24, 1890 at St Cloud, the couple operated the family homestead.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs Christ Lefeber, and Mrs Abler, St Cloud, Mrs Alvin Greuel, St Anna, and Miss Francis, Fond du Lac; three sons, Oscar and Harold, Fond du Lac,and Ervin, Plymouth; two sisters, Mrs Christ Bergs, St Cloud and Mrs Albert Wagner, Mt Calvary; 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death Sept 27, 1942. A daughter also preceded her in death.
During the funeral service the Rev. Stephen Zohlen, former pastor of St Claudius church, was seated in the sanctuary. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Mrs Anton Pauly, Mrs Joseph Ditter, Mrs Rosina Hochrein, Mrs John Lisowe, Mrs Frank Butz, and Miss Johanna Zohlen. Active pallbearers were Herman Feldner, Harold Lefeber, Olicer Greuel, Elroy Voelker, and Cyril and Larry Abler.
Those from away attending the funeral were from Milwaukee, Stevens Point, Sheboygan, Pewaukee, Green Bay, and the surrounding area.
