RURAL RESIDENT IS STRICKEN AT ST CLOUD HOME
Lawrence Voelker, 79, Dies Of heart Attack after 6 Week Illness.
Lawrence Voelker, 79, died of a heart attack at 8pm Sunday at his home, St Cloud, Route 1.
Although he had been in ill health for six weeks, he had attended church in the morning and was about his home during the remainder of the day. He was stricken as he stepped out into the yard.
Mr Voelker was born April 2, 1863 at St Anna, son of Mr and Mrs Val Voelker and was married Sept 24, 1889 at St Cloud to Miss Josephine Dreifuerst.
Surviving are his widow; eight daughters and sons, Mrs Bert Feldner, Francis and Harold of this city; Mrs Alvin Greuel of New Holstein, Erwin of Elkhart Lake, and Mrs Charles Lefeber, Mrs Joseph Abler, and Oscar Voelker of St Cloud; 24 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr Voelker was a member of St Claudius church of St Cloud, the Holy Name Society of the parish and the Third Order of St Francis.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30am Wednesday from the Lisowe Funeral Home in St Cloud and at 10:00am from St Claudius Church. The Rev Stephen Zohlen will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
