Ethyl Lillian Snyder was the daughter of William Kester Snyder and Della Amanda Martin. She married Clarence Alva Hutton, son of William Andrew Hutton and Mary Viola Frazier, on 24 Nov 1928 at Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas.

Clarence and Ethyl lived on a farm southwest of Bucklin, Kansas until his death in 1955. At that time Ethyl moved to Wichita, Kansas. Soon after her move, Ethyl went to Denver, Colorado and attended a floral design school. She retired after working twenty-two years for Moore's Flowers, a Wichita Florist shop.

Surviving Ethyl's death were two daughters, Joan Rice and Carolyn Kay Jones; and one son, Neil Alva Hutton.
