Obituary

Blanche Tressie Altis Mueller, 96, daughter of Addison and Elsie Sigman Altis, was born Oct. 13, 1905. She died Oct. 14, 2001, at Houston House.
Mrs. Mueller grew up in the Solo community and graduated from Houston High School in 1927.
As a young woman, she went to Kansas City where she met and married Ralph Mueller of Higginsville.
During the Depression, they returned to Houston and raised their family.
She was saved as a child and was always involved in the children's ministries. She served for several years as meal planner for memorial services of First Baptist Church members and their families.
She worked for many years at the Houston Schools cafeteria. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and knitting. She loved the outdoors and the changing of the colors in fall. In her later years, she loved to walk at least two miles a day. When that was not possible, she began a journey around the world on her stationary bike. She had completed one trip and began another. She pedaled while memorizing scripture and praise choruses.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Surviving are her children, Bill of San Diego, Calif., Dwight of Grant City and Omanez Fockler of Houston; one sister, Fern Wilson of Houston; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 16 at Wellspring Church with the Rev. Roger Freeman officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Wellspring building fund.
