Theodore Oscar Knutson, the last surviving child of Ole and Nicoline Knutson, was born Oct. 13, 1898, in Hartland, Minnesota.and died November 24,at the Lincoln Community Hospital in Hugo.
He moved with his parents to Genoa in 1904. He was married to Emma Mathesen December 1, 1920 in Denver. To this union five children were born.
he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a very active member of the Christ Lutheran church of Genoa and Zion Lutheran of Limon.
He helped with the building of the Christ Lutheran Church.He remained active until his health failed. He lived most of his life on the farm north of Genoa until he and his wife moved to Limon in 1959, where they resided until her death in March of 1983.
Knutson continued to live alone until his health failed in June of 1990 at which time he entered Prairie View East Care Center.
He made all of his children a quilt and won blue ribbons wit them at the county fair.
He enjoyed wood working, painting and took pride in his beautiful flowers.
But his pride was his companion, Tiny, his little black dog.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Emma; a son, Oscar; two sons-in-law; one grandson; three great grandchildren; and 13 brothers and sisters.He is survived by his children, Alnore Bandy,Donald(Della) Knutson, Thelma(Tom)Flynn, Betty(Harvey)Wann.
Funeral services were held Nov. 27 at the Limon United Methodist Church.
Pall bearers were his grandsons, Ted Bandy, Ron Knutson, Gary Knutson, Kevin Kirby, Dean Wann and Dan Wann.
Interment was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery of Genoa.
