I. Homer Smith:
Homer I Smith, a 53 year resident of the Sacramento area, died Wednesday (Jan 30) in Fair Oaks.

A native of Utah, he was 92. Mr Smith was the owner/operator of Palm Acres egg farm in Fair Oaks.

He was prominent in the Church of Latter Day Saints.

Mr Smith is survived by his wife, Elizabeth C. Smith, sons, Willard Loren and Gerald Smith; Daughters Maurine Smart and Shirley Simons; 26 grandchildren, 86 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Two children preceeded him in death.

Friends are welcome at the Price Funeral Chapel 6335 Sunrise Blvd; today and Sunday, 2-9 p.m. and are invited to attend the service at 1 p.m. Monday at the Fair Oaks Stake Center, LDS Church.7265 Deseret Ave. Interment will be in Fair Oaks Cemetery.

This is my Dad's brother Homer, I did not really have a chance to get to know Uncle Homer and Aunt Beth. I seen them a few times when they came to visit. I was not even born when they moved to California. REST IN SWEET ETERNAL PEACE UNCLE HOMER.

Services for I. Homer Smith former owner and operator of the Palm Acres Poultry Farm in Fair Oaks and an active member of the L.D.S. Church will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Fair Oaks Stake Center, 726 Deseret Ave.

Mr Smith, 92 died Wednesday in his Fair Oaks home. He was a native of Draper, Utah.
Mr Smith moved to Sacramento in 1932 as Northern California manager for the Maytag West Coast Co.
He started a poultry farm in 1950 and for many years supplied local restaurants and markets. In later years his son, Gerald, joined him in the business, which continues to operate as a wholesale outlet for egg producers in the Modesto area. For several years Mr. Smith had been semi-retired.

In 1934, he became first counselor to the initial Mormon stake president in the Sacramento area and for four years served as stake president. He also had served as patriarch to the American River and Fair Oaks stakes.

In 1983, Mr. Smith celebrated 70 years of marriage to his wife Elizabeth, who survives him. In addition to his son Gerald, he is survived by sons Willard of Placerville and Loren of Citrus Heights; and daughters Maurine Smart of Fair Oaks and Shirley Simons of Oakland. Two children preceded him in death. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 86 great, grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Interment will be in Fair Oaks cemetery. Price Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
