"Esther". She was the daughter of Samuel and Sarah Williams Snoots, and step-daughter of Annie Bates Stout Snoots. Esther was the widow of James Frank Spring, who died in 1923. Esther was survived by sons William E., James, S. Lawson, Fred and Casper Spring, numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and siblings I. Washington and Thomas Snoots, and Ellen Compher, and half-brother Roger Snoots.
Esther lost several children, Margaret Babington in 1929, Rupert in 1930, Charles in 1935 and Mattie Burke in 1937, possibly several others.
Esther and her husband were farmers in Lovettsville, VA and later in Frederick County, MD.
She is buried beside her husband, but has no grave marker of her own.
