At the time of his death he was employed as a watchman at fertilizer company Norton & Co. in Alexandria. It was late at night when he arrived home on the bus after his shift and he was struck by an automobile. He passed away a few hours later.
His name is on the back of his nephew Ralph Snoots' monument.
