MRS. PETER CARTIER DIES AT AGE OF 84

Resident of Red Lake County Since 1880

Death Came at 10:45 Friday Morning January 11.

Mrs. Peter Cartier, age 84 years and resident of Red Lake County for the past 48 years, died at the home of her son, Cash Cartier, in this city at 10:45 o'clock Friday morning, January 11, following a stroke suffered in October of last year from which she had never recovered.

Funeral services were held from St. Joseph's church of this city Monday morning with Rev. Victor Cardin officiating.

Deceased was born at Williamstown, Ontario, Canada on June 8, 1844. She moved with her parents to Marquette, Mich., when 15 years of age, her maiden name being Adeline Beautrow. She was married to Peter Cartier on Feb 14, 1864 and eight years later they came to Red Lake county where they settled on a homestead five miles southeast of this city.

In 1907, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cartier took up residence in Red Lake Falls, Mr. Cartier died on Dec. 18, 1912.

The surviving children are Peter of Star Prairie, Wis., Mrs. Bruno Toutant of Bemidji, Mrs. John Wavinak, Minneapolis, Joseph of Duluth, Mrs. George Moquin, William and Cash of this city.
