ROBERT MANGHELLI SR.
Robert S. Manghelli, Sr., 56, 1733 W. 11th St., died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday at his residence after an illness of the past four months.
Born in Middlesboro, Yorkshire County, England, Aug. 27, 1911, the son of Lib A. and Jane Ann Manghelli, he had resided in Anderson for 31 years, coming here from Marion. He was employed for 20 years at the Chesterfield Lumber Company.
He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are the widow, Chris, to whom he was married 36 years ago; his mother, Mrs. Jane Ann Manghelli, Anderson; three daughters, Miss Catherine Ann Manghelli, Anderson, Mrs. Thomas (Diane) King, Anderson, and Miss Mary Beth Manghelli, at home; two sons, Robert (Duke) Manghelli, Alexandria, and Maurice A. Manghelli, Anderson; five sisters, Miss Mary Catherine Manghelli, Mrs. Lloyd O'Brien, Mrs. Frank (Pam) Calabria, and Mrs. Carolyn Birch, all of Anderson, and Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Cravens, Indianapolis; one aunt, Mrs. Ethyl Legnard, Calif.; and seven grandchildren. A brother, Maurice, was killed in World War II while serving in the Pacific War zone.
A Funeral mass will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Keinly in charge. Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery at Elwood. Friends will be received at the Brown and Butz Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
