Pvt. Maurice Manghelli Reported As War Victim
Pvt. Maurice Manghelli, a former resident of Elwood, has been killed in action with the U.S. armed forces in the Solomon Islands, according to a war department news report.
Pvt. Manghelli is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Manghelli, who now reside in Anderson at 410 Jackson street. The family removed from Elwood seven years ago after having operated a wholesale business here.
Surviving are the parents, five sisters, Mrs. Robert Cravens of Indianapolis, Mary Catherine, Theresa, Pamela and Carolyn, and a brother Robert of Anderson.
Mr. and Mrs. John Manghelli and Joe Manghelli of Elwood are relatives of Pvt. Manghelli.
