Houston Vail, age 80, of Alexandria, La., passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009, at Summit Retirement Center in Alexandria.
He is the son of Sherman Vail and the late Myrtie (Simmons) Vail. Mr. Vail was also preceded in death by two sisters: Edna Mae (Vail) Bryant and Rita (Vail) Guilliams and by two brothers: Jimmy Vail and Edward Vail.
He is survived by two daughters: Lynne Tarver and husband John of Alexandria, La. and Dianne Morgan of Hineston, La.; two sisters: Thelma (Vail) Jarnagin of Winnfield, La. and Lorna Jean Bright of Hineston, La; four granddaughters: Connie Mathews and husband Willie of Alexandria; Kelly Doine and husband Drew of Deville, La., Misti Morgan of Alexandria, and Michele McDonald and husband Michael of Jonesboro, La.
Funeral services for Mr. Vail will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Maurice Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, with Bro. Sherman Vogel officiating.
Friends may visit with the family in the Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
