Mrs. Lorna Jean Bright, 80, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 15, 2021, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA.

During her working years she owned and operated two bars in New Orleans, Lorna's Lounge and The Sportsman's Lounge. She also owned an all-female hot-shot service, Southern Belles, in Houma and a boutique in Marrero. She was a hot-shot driver for oilfield companies in the 1980's and was a very feisty, strong woman. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Alexandria and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Myrtie Vail; her husband, George Stephen Bright; and one son, Tony Bright.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons, Kia Bright and his wife, Sherri, of Alexandria and Daryl J. Bright and his wife, Jerralyn, of New Orleans; one sister, Thelma Jarnagin, of Winnfield; two grandchildren, Jaden MacFarlane Bright and Kassidy Muriel Bright; and one niece, Lynne Tarver and her husband, john, of Alexandria.
