On the 1920 census, he's listed with his parents as O. Edward.
On the 1930 census, his parents list a son named Olander E.

MARTINSVILLE DAILY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Wed., Sept. 6, 1939, p. 2, col. 8 [edited].
Military honors were paid Edward Cobbler, 48 year-old World War Veteran, who died Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Cobler, at Figsboro, when final rites were held yesterday afternoon from Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, near the home.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
The deceased was unmarried.
Surviving are his parents, several brothers and sisters, all of this county.
