Jessie Oren Cobler, 36, a farmer , Route 2, Martinsville, was killed almost instantly when struck by a car as he was walking on the Figsboro Highway about two miles over the Franklin county line Wednesday night.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Eggleston burial ground at Dyers Store.
He was a widower and is survived by four children and several brothers and sisters.
Lillian E. Eggleston, dau. of John William Eggleston & wife Annie M. Thomasson, married 19 Aug. 1922, Reidsville N.C., to J. Orren Cobler.
