She was born in Stokes County, April 20, 1912, daughter of the late Rufus and Lula Stephens Mabe. She was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Brook Cove. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Posie Bennett; a son, Elmer Bennett and a son-in-law, June Cardwell.
Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Cardwell of Mayodan, Glenda (Junior) Duncan and Betty (James) Briggs, both of Danbury; four sons, Mack (Cathy) Bennett, of Germanton, L.G. (Juanita) Bennett of Madison, Wayne (Jo Ann) Bennett of Lawsonville and Junior (Debbie) Bennett of Danbury; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Bennett, of Vienna, W.Va.
