Esther Seibel, 70, 216 Redwood St., Lodi, died late Sunday in a local hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Romona, Kan., Mrs. Seibel moved to the Lodi area with her family at the age of 10. She attended Alpine School as a child.
She married to Ludwig Seibel in 1921 and the couple had observed their Golden Wedding anniversary, Dec 22.
The Seibel family farmed many years on Sowles Road. Mrs. Seibel was active in 4-H work for the past 15 years and was a leader in the Oakview School area 4-H.
She attended the Lodi Community Church.
In addition to her husband, Ludwig, Mrs. Seibel is survived by three sons, Richard of Lodi, Herman of Galt and Delmar of San Andreas; two daughters, Mrs. Chester (Wilma) Aldridge, Acampo, Mrs. Roy (Doris) Russell, Sonora; a brother, Emanuel Young, Lodi; five sisters, Mrs. Rachel Schaffer, Mrs. Lydia Reimche, Mrs. Lizzie Baumbach, Mrs. Hilda Seibel, all of Lodi, and Mrs. Eva Osborn, Spokane, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow in the chapel of Lodi Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Dickinson of Lodi Community Church officiating.
Interment will be in Lodi Memorial Cemetery.
