Emanuel Young, 82, of Acampo died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Ramona, Ka., and moved to Lodi in 1911 with his parents, John and Elizabeth Young. They lived on Kettleman Lane where they farmed. Mr. Young married Viola Engel in 1923 and continued to live and far in the Lodi area.
Viola Young died in 1976, and he later married Ida Gentner.
Mr. Young retired in 1979. He was a member of S.I.R.S., and was a charter member of Lodi Elks Lodge No. 1900 and the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Young of Acampo; a daughter, a son; a stepdaughter; two sisters, Eva Owsley and Rachel Schaffer, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and three step-grandsons.
