Darla June Yow Lloyd Franklin, granddaughter of Ella, sister of Nellie: "Grandma told me that they were washing clothes down by a creek. They were having trouble getting the fire started. I believe it was Nellie who was blowing on the kindling trying to get the fire started. She then ran up the hill and collapsed. The family carried her to their home. My grandma was sent to get the doctor. Before Grandma got back, Nellie had died. She never regained consciousness. Grandma gave me a photo of Nellie."
