E. Russell Farabaugh, age 76, of Wesleyville, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was born in Loretto, Pa. on November 30, 1932, son of the late Englebert J. and Alma Farbaugh. Russ was an active member and Eucharistic Minister of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. He was also a 60 year member of American Legion Carl Post 571 and served on the Firing Squad Detail. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Russ had retired from General Electric Co.; taught AARP 55 Alive classes; was Director of Training for the Northwest Pa. Blind Golfers Association and had previously served on the Wesleyville Borough Council. Russ is survived by three children, Ronald P. Farabaugh (Roseann), Diane C. Williams (William), and Randall L. Farabaugh (Helen); two brothers, Art and Floyd Farabaugh; three sisters, Helen Biller, Rita Hoover, and Kathleen Smith; eight grandchildren, Nicole Bojkic, Melissa Gustafson, Heather Casillo, Jen Kimball, Tina Green, Chad Williams, Deanna Rosenthal, and Donna Farabaugh; four great-grandchildren, Diaz, Evan, Kaylyn and Zachary and nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a son, Russell A. Farabaugh; two brothers, Clyde and Wayn; and three sisters, Delrose, Francie, and Florence. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc. East, 2607 Buffalo Rd. on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Further visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church, 837 Bartlett Rd., on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 am. Military honors will follow at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery conducted by Carl Neff Post #571.
