Arthur R. “Art” Farabaugh, 85, Loretto, died Sunday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in R.D. Loretto, son of the late Englebert and Alma (Benden) Farabaugh

Arthur R. “Art” Farabaugh 85, Loretto, died September 6, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born September 24, 1929 in R. D. Loretto, son of the late Englebert and Alma (Benden) Farabaugh. Preceded in death by son, Daniel in 1982 and these brothers and sisters: Catherine Farabaugh, Mary Frances Jones, Delrose Shuss, Rita Hoover, Wayne, Clyde, Flo Farabaugh, Russell, and Helen Biller. Survived by wife of 60 years, the former Mary T. Byrne whom he married September 21, 1954 in Ebensburg.
Son: John  (Debbie Urbain) Loretto 5 grandchildren: Matthew (Amy), Trisha Storm (Jason), Sean (Tracey), Twins: Michelle Yahner (Vince), and Melissa Cahill (Ryan). 10 Great Grandchildren: Brandon, Emma, Dylan, Madison, Danielle, Autumn, Ben, Carter, Brayden, Adalyn and a great grandchild to be born in March. Brother of: Kathleen Smith Loretto
Floyd (Mille) in Georgia
Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Army Veteran, and a lifelong dairy farmer. Art enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, music and was a square dance caller. Member of the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto and former choir director and where funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Wednesday, Rev. Malachi Van Tassell, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Friends will be received from  4 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613 where a Vigil Service will be held Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Basilica of St. Michael in Art’s memory.
