Taken from extensive research done by Malvery Wendt decendant of Carl William Braasch Sr.: Born in the Braasch log cabin north of Jansen and died at the home of her daughter, Ella at Weatherford, Okla.

She was tall, had dark hair and brown eyes. Confirmed in 1893
at the Cub Creek Church north of Jansen. Church records show her name as Doris Braasch.

Married near Plymouth, Ne. to Edmund John Weichel Sr. 1/8/1902. They lived first 4 years near Plymouth. Their first 2 children were born there. In Jan of 1907 they homesteaded a farm several miles S.W. of Colony, Ok. In 1940 they moved to a farm owned by their son located near Cowden, Ok. They lost first farm in 1940 due to drought and depression.

Both are buried at Red Top Cemetery located 1/2 mile E. of their original homestead. Dora made her home with her daughter Ella and family at Weatherford from '52 until the
time of her death in '65. Ella's home in Weatherford was a hotel in '07. Dora once commented that she ate her first meal in Ok. in that hotel, they came down via train. She died in that same hotel-house. Ed and Dora were the parents of 11 children,
