Anton Roeder, 89, 910 6th St., Kiel, died at his home early this morning. He had been ill for several months. He was born Jan. 16, 1876, son of the late Barthelme and Annie Hiederer Roeder. He attended school in St. Anna. He married Elizabeth Stemper of St. Anna, May 30, 1899. They lived on a farm in New Holstein which they operated until their retirement in 1948 when they moved to Kiel. Mrs. Roeder died in August, 1955. He was a member of Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin, St. Anna Branch.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Math (Olive) Winkel, R. 2, Elkhart Lake, and Mrs. Alfred (Viola) Mirsberger, Sheboygan; a son, Ervin, R. 3, Chilton; 11 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. A son, Walter, preceded him in death.
Services will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, following brief family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. George Kiefer, pastor, will celebrate the requiem mass. Burial will be in St. Anna Cemetery.
