Elkhart Lake. —
Mrs. Elizabeth Mirsberger, 75, a life-long resident of this area, died Saturday morning in the St. Nicholas hospital, Sheboygan, after having been there six weeks. The former Miss Elizabeth Raeder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barthel Raeder, was born Sept. 20, 1866, in the town of New Holstein and received her education at St. Ann's school. On May 13, 1890, at St. Ann's church, St. Anna, she was married to Jacob Mirsberger of Elkhart Lake, after which they made their home on the Mirsberger farm near the village. They operated the farm until the death of Mr. Mirsberger, Dec. 18, 1918, at which time Mrs. Mirsberger sold it to John Menne and bought a home in Elkhart Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Mirsberger celebrated their silver wedding anniversary May 13, 1915, when the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. Joseph T. Kroha, the first resident pastor of St. George parish, celebrated a high mass in their home. Mr. and Mrs. Mirsberger were charter members of St. George Catholic church which they helped build and up to the time of her illness, Mrs. Mirsberger had charge of the care and decorating of the altars. She was a charter member and one time president of the Christian Mothers society of St. George Parish, and the society will attend in a body at the funeral. The Mirsbergers had no children, and her survivors include one brother, Anton Raeder of St. Anna, one sister, Mrs. Paul (Anna) Leonard of Hettinger, N. Dak., and by many nieces and nephews. Four sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Mirsberger home and at 10 at the St. George Catholic church with a solemn requiem high mass, with the Rev. Felix Sippel of Elkhorn, former pastor of St. George parish, as celebrant. He will be assisted by the Rev. James W. Huepper of Wauwatosa, another former pastor of the church and who celebrated the requiem high mass for Mr. Mirsberger, the Rev. Clemens Kern of St. Anna, and the Rev. A. J. Reinl, Elkhart Lake. Burial will be in St. Ann's cemetery, St. Anna, where Mr. Mirsberger is buried. The body is at the Mirsberger home and may be viewed until the time of services.
