Minna Louise was born in Germany in 1873. She was a twin to Gustav. Before she was a teen, she had traveled with parents and five siblings for six weeks on a sea voyage to America. The family first went to New Braunfels, Texas and then to Maxwell. Joseph Karl came to serve ministry at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church where he met Minna Louise Schulle. They were married in December 1892 at Maxwell.

In 1894 the couple moved to Yorktown to serve for 28 years in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Following Yorktown, the couple went to Bellville and Cat Spring for a period of 13 years. .

Their Six Children:
JOHN POCH, was born February 13, 1894 in Yorktown, Texas; died 1963 in San Antonio, Texas.
PAULUS POCH, was born September 29, 1895 in Yorktown, died 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
MARTHA POCH, was born December 29, 1896 in Yorktown; married Hubert Leopold Menn 1917.
JOSEPH KARL POCH, JR. was born September 1, 1898 in Yorktown, Texas.
ALFRED WILLIAM POCH, was born November 13, 1902 in Yorktown, DeWitt County, Texas.
ESTER DORTHEA POCH, was born August 29, 1907 in Yorktown, DeWitt County, Texas.

Louise suffered a fall and died February 8, 1934 in Halletsville, Texas. She was taken back to Yorktown for burial.
