Manawa Advocate, Manawa, Wisconsin, August 21, 1902. "Charles Raasch died at his home in this village this morning from the effects of an accident Monday. He was building a chimney for Gus. Zanders, north of town, Monday afternoon, and in some manner fell off the scaffolding to the ground, about thirty feet. His collar bone and shoulder blade were broken and he received other internal injuries. He was brought to this village and everything done for hime that medical science could do but without avail, and he lingered until his morning, when death put an end to his suffering.
Mr. Raasch was born in Germany and had he lived until August 29, 1902, would have been 54 years old. He leaves a wife and seven children (four from a former wife) to morn his loss. He was a hard working man and well liked in the community in which he lived."
