"Edgar - Funeral Services for Mrs. Emma Rachu, 77, who died at St. Mary's Hospital in Wausau on Saturday at 9:10 p.m. will be conducted at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Edgar on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in the Fenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the Lohr Funeral Home beginning this evening.
Mrs. Rachu, the former Emma Raasch, was born Aug. 18, 1882, in Manawa. She was married to Henry Rachu at Manawa Oct. 7, 1903. They farmed in the town of Wien all their married life. She made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Grosskreutz of Edgar, since the death of her husband on Feb. 12, 1952.
Children surviving besides Mrs. Grosskreutz (Esther) are Ervin, Unity; Lester, Marshfield; Edwin, Wausau; and Henry, Fenwood. She also leaves two half sisters, Mrs. Irma Bork an Mrs. Laura Hieman, both of Marion; a stepsister, Mrs. Margaret Arndt, Clintonville; a stepbrother, address unknown; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
One daughter preceded her in death in 1924."
