GILBERT LEROY MAGERS
---Gilbert LeRoy Magers, a section hand at Elmer, was found dead on the Santa Fe tracks near the tool house at Elmer Sunday night and is reported to have been killed by a through freight train.
---The funeral services were held from the Elmer Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, conducted by Rev. R.R. Watts, pastor of the La Plata Baptist Church.
---Mr. Magers was the son of J.D. and Katherine Magers and was born in McMullen County, Texas, September 10, 1878 and at the time of his death was fifty-one years, one month and three days of age. He was one of a family of twelve children, five sons and three daughters now are living, Clarence of Brookfield, Charlie of New Boston, Joe, Grundy and Rozza of La Plata, Reva Flint and Edith Coran of St. Catherine.
---Mr. Magers had resided in Elmer since he was married to Dollie Henderson, July 6, 1900. to them was born one child, Nellie Magers, who died May 17, 1921 and left a child, Junior Moody, who has made his home with his grandparents since his birth.
---Mr. Magers held membership in the Elmer Baptist Church at one time after making a profession of faith and been Baptized.
---He had been employed by the Santa Fe for the past twenty-five years, part time working as foreman. The section men of the Company were the pallbearers.
