---Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 at the Baptist Church for Mrs. John D. Magers.
---Mrs. Catherine Magers, widow of John D. Magers, eighty-seven years, died Saturday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lela Colyer, of 1610 S. Osteopathy, Kirksville. She had been in declining health for some time.
---Mrs. Magers was born in Macon County near Gifford, April 8, 1854, a daughter of Lee and Harriet Carter.
---She was married in October, 1873 to John D. Magers and twelve children were born. Four children, Ellen, Gilbert, Laveda and Edith, preceded her in death. Her husband died July 8, 1941. They observed their sixty-eighth wedding anniversary in 1940.
---Surviving are the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Rena Flint of Bucklin, Mrs. Lela Colyer of Kirksville, Mrs. C.Q. Coram of Kirksville, Clarence Magers of Columbia, Joe Magers of La Plata, Grundy Magers of La Plata, Rozza Magers of La Plata and Charley Magers of New Boston; two brothers, Jim and Roe Carter of Elmer and one sister, Mrs. Tilda Parsons of Elmer.
---In young womanhood, Mrs. Magers joined the Baptist Church.

Rhoda and her husband, John D. Magers, had twelve children; six boys and six girls: Mary E., Laveda, Rena/Irene M., Gilbert LeRoy, Clarence Robert, Joe I., Grundy D., Rozza C., Charlie, Lela, Edith and Ellen Magers.
