George Harold Boren, son of Maurice Elmer and Mable Boren, was born in McCool Junction, Neb., on March 12, 1910, and passed away January 23, 1974, at the age of 63 years.

Harold graduated from Fairmont high school in 1929. He was united in marriage to Miss Goldie Carpenter of Fort Morgan, Col., on October 3, 1931.

He went into business at Boren Lumber Company with his brother, William Boren, after returning from the service. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a member of American Legion Earl Forbes Post No. 21, serving as commander after World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Maurice, Raymond and Emory.

He is survived by his wife, Goldie; one brother, William both of Fairmont; two sisters, Margaret, Mrs. Elmer Priefert of Fairmont and Lorena, Mrs. Don White of Corvallis, Ore.; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services were held January 26, 1974 in the United Church of Christ at Fairmont with Rev. Jay Schmidt officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Tom Boyer and Mrs. Jerry Galusha was organist.

Pallbearers were Sherman Ashby, Don Beavers, Raymond Hall, Butch Pankoke, Francis Rose and Wayne Stone.

Interment was in Fairmont Cemetery with military honors by Lt. Earl Forbes Post No. 21, American Legion.
