Charles Emory Boren, son of Maurice Elmer and Mabel Boren was born at McCool Junction, Neb., on February 11, 1908, and passed away at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, Neb., on May 22, 1973, at age 65.

Emory was stricken with polio at the age of 18 months. He moved with the family to Fairmont in 1917. He joined the Methodist Church as a youth.

He graduated from Fairmont high school in 1926 and was married to Iris Manning on June 5, 1933. During World War II, he was in defense work at Edmonton, Canada.

During much of his life he was associated with the trucking industry, until illness forced his retirement.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Iris; brothers William and George H. of Fairmont; sisters, Mrs. Elmer Priefert (Margaret) of Fairmont and Mrs. Don White (Lorenea) of Corvallis, Ore.; nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Maurice and Raymond.

Funeral services were conducted at the Farmer-Harris Funeral home, Fairmont, at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, 1973, with Rev. Jay Schmidt officiating. Mrs. Thomas Boyer, accompanied by Mrs. Jerry Galusha, sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Pallbearers were Cecil Davis, Donald Kness, Robert Hogue, Roger Schmidt, Larry Kelch and Dennis Volkmer. Interment was in Fairmont Cemetery.
