BOONE, SISTER MARY REGINA OSU, 92, of Maple Mount, died April 29, 2010 in her 73rd year as an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph. The New Haven native taught at St. Columba School, Louisville (1942-54) and other schools throughout Kentucky and in Nebraska. Survivors include seven sisters, Catherine Keene of Louisville, Margie Johnson of Bardstown, Cecilia Johnson, Mary Jean Hagan and Teresa Thompson, all of New Haven, KY, Sister Joseph Angela Boone OSU of Owensboro, KY and Josephine Dworzan, Orange, CA; nieces and nephews; and the members of her religious community.
The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Saint Joseph. Visitation begins at 4 p.m., with a wake service at 6:30 p.m. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, is in charge of arrangements. Gifts in memory of Sister Mary Regina Boone may take the form of donations to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, 8001 Cummings Road, Maple Mount, KY 42356.

SISTER MARY REGINA BOONE, 92 DIES - Mount St. Joseph Ursuline Sister Mary Regina Boone died April 29 at Mount St. Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She was 92 and in her 73rd year of religious life. Sister Boone, a native of New Haven, Ky., was an educator for 47 years. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Columba School in Louisville from 1942-1954. She also served as teacher and principal in the Diocese of Owensboro, Ky., and in Nebraska. She taught mathematics at Brescia University, Owensboro, from 1983-1988. From 1983 until her retirement in 1993, she was director of hospitality at the Mount St. Joseph Guest House. Survivors include seven sisters, Margie Johnson, Bardstown, Ky.; Cecilia Johnson, Mary Jean Hagan and Teresa Thompson, all of New Haven; Josephine Dworzan, Orange, Calif.; Ursuline Sister Joseph Angela Boone, Owensboro; and Catherine Keene, Louisville; nieces and nephews; and the members of her religious community. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 3 at Mount St. Joseph Chapel.
