MRS. W. J. BOONE, WED 54 YEARS, DIES AT NEW HAVEN - MRS. MARY JOSEPHINE GREENWELL BOONE, 74, wife of William J. Boone, farmer of Nelson and LaRue Counties, died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, February 26, at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown, after being admitted to the hospital a few days before. Mr. and Mrs. Boone moved from their LaRue County farm into a new home they built in New Haven a few years ago, and they have resided there since. She was hospitalized at Bardstown for three months in late summer and fall and had since been ill at her home. Born and reared at New Haven, Mrs. Boone and her husband lived near Mobile, Alabama, for a short time after their marriage, but most of their married life was on a farm near New Haven. They were married for 54 years. Mrs. Boone was a member of the Altar Society of St. Catherine Church, New Haven. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, who are Ursuline Sisters, seven other daughters and two sons: Sister Aloise, Mt. St. Joseph, Daviess County; Sister Regina, St. Romuald School, Hardinsburg; and Sister Joseph Angela, Brescia College, Owensboro; Mrs. Hugh (Margie) Johnson and Mrs. John L. (Edna Marie) Newcomb, both of Bardstown; Mrs. Errol P. (Cecilia) Johnson, II; Mrs. Edward (Jeanie) Hagan and Mrs. Patrick (Teresa) Thompson, all of New Haven; Mrs. Joseph (Josephine) Dworzan, Orange, Calif.; Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Keene, Louisville; Fred Boone, Louisville; and Joe Bill Boone, New Haven; 53 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Jean Cecil, Louisville; and one brother, Frank Greenwell, Louisville. Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, at ten o'clock at St. Catherine Church, New Haven, with High Requiem Mass. Rev. Fred J. Gettelfinger, pastor, officiated. In the sanctuary were Rev. George Greenwell, Louisville, a nephew of the deceased; Rev. Lawrence Hardesty, Louisville; Msgr. James H. Willett, Bardstown. Pallbearers were Joe and Mike Boone, Mark and Mike Johnson, George and Robert Hagan.
