JOSEPH W. "JOE.BILL" BOONE, 73, passed away Friday, May 16, 2003, at his residence in New Haven. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven and retired from Boone Machine Inc. in New Haven. He also farmed most of his life. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of New Haven Knights of Columbus, St. Catherine Altar Society, New Haven Optimist Club, and an usher for St. Catherine parish for 58 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Boone and Mary Josephine Greenwell Boone, two brothers, Aloysius and Fred Boone; and two sisters, Sr. Alouise Boone and Eddie Newcomb. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marian Elizabeth "Tootsie" Osbourne Boone of New Haven; three sons, Al Boone of Bardstown, Ky, Freddy Boone of New Haven and B. J. Boone of Lexington, Ky; three daughters, Dianne Henley of New Haven, George Ann Stephens of White City, Ky, and Lydia McMahan of New Haven; 13 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; eight sisters, Margie Johnson of Louisville, Sr. Regina Boone, Sr. Joseph Angela "J.A." Boone, both of Mt. Saint Joseph, Ky, Cecila Johnson, Mary Jean Hagan, Teresa Thompson, all of New Haven, Catherine Keene of Louisville and Josephine Dworzan of Orange, Ca; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2003, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven, with Rev. Mark Keene, Rev. Clarence J. Howard and Rev. Trumie Culpepper Elliott officiating. Burial will be in St. Catherine Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation with prayer service will be from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2003 and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully ask that all donations be made to St. Catherine Cemetery, to Hospice of Nelson County or to Mt. Saint Joseph.
