Mary Jean “Jeannie” Boone Hagan, 93, of New Haven, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at her home in New Haven. She was born in New Haven to the late W.J. and Mary Josephine Greenwell Boone. She was a lifelong member of St. Catherine of funeral_doveAlexandria Catholic Church in New Haven, the St. Catherine Altar Society, and was an active member of the Community Bereavement Room.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hagan; one son, Joseph Larry “Squad” Hagan; four sisters, Margie Johnson, Edna Marie Newcomb; Sr. Aloise Boone OSU; Sr. Mary Regina Boone OSU, Cecilia Boone Johnson; three brothers, Joseph A. Boone, Frederick Boone and Joe Bill Boone.
She is survived by five daughters, Jo Ann Guerrant of Edmond, Okla, Louise Nader of Brazil, Jean Marie Hutcherson and Rose Mary Greenwell, both of Bardstown and Margaret Braun of Xenia, Ohio; five sons, George Hagan of Austin, Texas, Robert Hagan of Gainesville, Fla., James Hagan of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Ray Hagan of Elizabethtown and Charles Hagan of Bloomfield; four sisters, Sr. Joseph Angela Boone OSU, Catherine Keene, Josephine Dworza and Theresa Marie Thompson; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at St. Catharine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, and 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, 2014, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home, 167 N. Main St., New Haven with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Friday.
