Obit written by NB Sikes for the Firm Foundation

It becomes my painful duty to record the death of Sister Joanna Prewitt, the wife of Brother W.W.Prewitt. Her maiden name was Joanna Plummer, daughter of L.T.M. Plummer, who was one of the sufferers in old Fort Parker, so well known in Texas history. Sister Prewitt died the first Lord's day in June. She was the mother of eight children, seven have gone on before her to the spirit land. Sister Prewitt was 65 years of age. She obeyed the gospel many years ago under the preaching of Brother J.A.Q. Pringle. She leaves her aged husband, a dutiful daughter, and three sisters to mourn her loss.
