The couple moved to Young County, Texas following their marriage making their home on a tract of land which he had bought near Eliasville. The couple engaged in stock raising until his retirement from active business in 1920.
Services for Mrs. Amanda Frances Hill were held in the Eliasville Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Huddleston, pastor of the church. Survived by her husband; four daughters - Mrs. B.L. Kirtley, Mrs. J.G. Matthews, Mrs. W.P. Smith, Mrs. J.F. Smith; four sons - J.W., S.R., C.T., and Roy Hill.
