He was a native of Eliasville and a member of the Methodist Church. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Breckenridge. He had lived all of his life as a rancher in the community. He had a bad heart condition for several years.

Hammer of Galveston; Mrs. Bill Mitchell of Rockdale; Mrs. Howard Stanfill of OK; four grandchildren; three sisters - Mrs. Ada Kirtley of Graham, Mrs. Ollie Smith of Ranger, Mrs. Mollie Smith of Albuqurque, NM; brother - Sam Hill of El Centro, CA.
