aged 65, passed away at his home, Rt. 1, Robbins, at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, October 23, after an illness of 2 months. He was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church, a splendid citizen, and was loved by all who knew him. Survivors: wife, Alma Ellis West, of Robbins, mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Elliott, of Robbins; 4 sons: James of Robbins, A. D. of Ypsilanti, Mich., C. V. of New Castle, Ind., Arthur of Indianapolis, Ind.; 2 daughters: Mrs. Pauline Jones and Mrs. Cleda Jones, both of Robbins; 2 brothers, Ruben West of Danville, Ky., John Lee West of Oneida; 3 sisters: Mrs. Eva Raynes of Danville, Ky., Mrs. Rebecca Smith and Mrs. Lora Smith both of Oneida, 25 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Black Creek Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 25, with Rev. L. M. Jeffers officiating. Burial in Cross Roads Cemetery. West in charge.
