The funeral service for FREDERICK S. AXMEAR, 65, well known Keswick retired farmer, was held last Wednesday afternoon at the Keswick Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. L.G. Rumer. Burial was in the Sorden cemetery near Webster.

Mr. Axmear died at his home in Keswick on Mondy afternoon, May 22 about 5:30 o'clock. Although he had been in failing health for several years, he apparently had been improving in recent months.

Mr. Axmer, a son of Jacob and Rosa Axmear, was born June 24, 1884 on a farm near Keswick. He was graduated from the Keswick schools in the class of 1904, and later attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls and Illinois Normal at Quincy. For several years he taught school and at one time was superintendent of the Keswick schools.

On September 28, 1915, he was married to Alma Oldaker and they became parents of 10 children, all of whom are living.

Mr. Axmear was engaged in farming on the farm where he was born until the fall of 1948 when he and Mrs. Axmear moved to the present home in Keswick. Early in life he became a member of the Methodist chuch near his home, later transferring his membership to the Christain church at White Pigeon, where it remained at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife; seven daughters, Helen Marie Dunnick of Keswick, Hazel Arlene Hanson of Cedar Falls, Velds Jean McPherson of Hedrick, Elizabeth Louise Davies of Sigourney; Merna Gayle Peet of Iowa City, and Lois Maye and Jo-Ann at home; three sons, Raymond Frederick and Kenneth Eugene of North English and Dale Steven of Webster and 15 grandchildren.

Also living are five brothers, Arthur of Cedar Rapids, William C. of Keswick, Sidney H. of North English, Bruce M. of Pasadena, California and Cecil R. or North Hollywood, California.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his twin brother, George F. Axmear.
