SERVICES HELD FOR SIDNEY H. AXMEAR, 83

Funeral services for Sidney Axmear, 83, were held at 1:30 o'clock Tuesday, August 3, 1971 in the Best Funeral Chapel in North English. He passed from this life on July 31, 1971.

Rev. Patrick Logan, pastor of the Christain church, conducted the rites.

Hymns were sung by a duet, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Grove. Mrs. Fred Gilmore.

Pallbearers were: Edward Fancher, Harmon Rose, Robert Evans, Myron Bohrn, Cloyd Johnston and Maurice Strasser.

Burial was made in the North English cemetery.

Sidney Harrison Axmear was born May 11, 1888 on a farm six miles northeast of Keswick, Iowa and passed away at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City on July 31, 1971 at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 20 days. Prior to being in Mercy Hospital he had been a resident of the Manor House nursing home in Sigourney.

Sidney Harrison Axmear was the son of Jacob and Rosa Brakel Axmear. He was united in marriage on May 11, 1915 to Alta Himler. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Kenneth Snakenberg (Ruth) of Webster, Miss Lucille Axmear of near Iowa City and Norman Axmear of North English.

Mrs. Axmear leaves to remember him, besides his wife and children; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bruce and Cecil Axmear of California.

His parents and four brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Axmear farmed most of his life-time in the North English and White Pigeon communities. Prior to farming he spent some time with the Civil Service and taught school near Keswick. He was a graduate of the Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois, and a member of the Christian church.
