Funeral services for William Thomas Edwards, 83, of Jena were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Jena First Baptist church with the Rev. Dan Blake, the Rev. K.G. Brooks and the Rev. M.M. Melder officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove cemetery near Rhinehart under the direction of Hexson Brothers funeral home of Jena.
Mr. Edwards, a life-time resident of Jena, died in a local hospital at 4 p.m. Friday. he was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Minnie Adams Edwards of Jena; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Edwards McClure of Jena; four sons, Al Edwards and Tollie Edwards, both of Jena, Bob Edwards of Shider, Okla. and Roy Edwards of West Monroe; one brother, Genie Edwards of Jena; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Edwards Murphey of Jena and Mrs. Emmitt Edwards Walker of Jonesville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Nick Edwards, Curtis Lees, Henry Lees, Orville Bell, William Bell and Willie Walker.
