Mrs. Edna Arilda Dennis, 94, of Aurora, Ark., died Dec. 16, 1995, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Jan. 27, 1901, at Witter, Ark., the daughter of John William and Edna Louintha Rowton Cain. She was a homemaker and the widow of Sidney Eugene Dennis, whom she married on Sept. 27, 1921, and who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 1955. She was also preceded in death by one son, Norman Eugene Dennis, on Jan. 2, 1939, and by one daughter, Mrs. Claudia Vay McCollough on Jan. 7, 1984.
Survivors include four sons, James C. Dennis of Hanover, Maryland, Boyd Dennis and Cecil Dennis, both of Aurora, Ark., and Calvin Dennis of Witter, Ark.; four daughters, Mrs. Vivian Bowman, Mrs. Velma Hayes and Mrs. Vercie Reynolds, all of Huntsville, and Mrs. Sharon Myers of Aurora, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Delia McElhaney of Hindsville; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Vervia Dennis Harris of Stilwell, Okla.; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy I. Cain officiating. Interment was in the Henderson Creek Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
