Funeral services were held December 11 at the Aurora Pentecostal Church for Sidney Eugene Dennis, 59, of Aurora, who passed away December 10 at the Veterans Hospital in Fayetteville. He suffered a heart attack and had been in the hospital a week.

The deceased was born May 21, 1896 at Aurora, the son of John D. and Beulah Frazier Dennis. He was married to Edna Arilda Cain and they were the parents of nine children all of whom survive.

Besides his widow, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Vivian Bowman, Velma Dennis, Mrs. Vey McCullough, Vercie Dennis, and Sharon Kay Dennis, all of Aurora; four sons, Coyt, Boyd, Cecil and Calvin Dennis, all of Aurora; one sister, Vervia Dennis of Huntsville; three brothers, Jessie Dennis of Kansas City, Mo., and Audie and Carlos Dennis of Huntsville; nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Reverends Charles L. McElhaney of Aurora and Cecil Garrison of Huntsville conducted the funeral service held at 1:30 p.m. Burial was in the Henderson Creek cemetery under the direction of the Brashears Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Troy Dennis, L. D. Dennis, Raymond McElhaney, Charles McConnell, Dillard Reeves and Lonnie Faddis.
