John Roland Sublett, 85, Gainesville, Fl passed away at the VA Hospital, Gainesville, Fl on Friday, August 1, 2008. Born in Montcalm, West Virginia on June 2, 1923 he moved to Gainesville 51 yrs ago from Pontiac, Michigan. He was with the 82nd Parachute Airborne Command at Ft. Benning during World War II serving in Italy, France and Germany. He is survived by his wife of 59 yrs. Eva Cecil Sublett, two daughters Scarlet Sublett Bradley, Ft. White, FL and Laura Sublett Scott-Warner, Independence, KY., five grandsons and 3 great grandchildren. Graveside services with full military honors will held 2:00 Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008 at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, under the direction of Moring Funeral Home, Melrose, FL.Gainesville Sun, The (FL) - August 5, 2008 Page: 3B
